Notes:
My first job in the film industry and easily one of the greatest days of my life. I was fourteen, and my brother's babysitter (shout out Sarah) drove me three and a half hours from Chicago to Michigan for the callback. Certain I didn’t get it, we stopped on the way back to enjoy our first Hooters experience at a strip-mall in Grand Rapids (it really wasn’t all that). A month later, after returning from a trip to Laos, I was riffing back and forth with Jesse Eisenberg for hours and hours. We shot sunrise to sunset, and tried at least twenty different versions of the dialogue. Everyone was insanely kind, generous, and supportive of the nervous ginger boy’s first time on set. I learned so much from Ruben, Jessie, Jess Hall, Sam, and the rest of the amazing team out there. I left that night in Grand Rapids knowing that this was exactly what I was going to do with the rest of my life, and haven’t looked back since.
